House requirements:

1. We have a zero tolerance for use of drugs/alcohol
2. Residents/guests must arrive clean and stay clean for the duration of their stay
3. All must attend at least 3 self help meetings per week, and obtain a sponsor within 2 weeks and attend mandatory house meetings once per week
4. Each person must find employment or do volunteer work for at least 20 hours per week.  Attending school may be done in lieu of working
5. Everyone must be self sufficient and able to take care of themselves.  Personal hygiene and cleanliness must be maintained on a daily basis

Serenity house is a safe a sober environment for all men who are working a program of recovery from alcohol and or drugs.  All present are working on maintaining sobriety.  This is a win-win situation.  We are here to offer help to each other and to ourselves.  Most of our house members have come in from hospitals, detox/recovery centers or have just made up their minds to change their lives. They spend, in general, anywhere from 3 months to 2 years at Serenity House before they make their transition into society as a whole.  We feel we offer that transitional living environment that is necessary for long-term recovery.
